Which Gloves Are Better? Nitrile Or Latex?

Hand gloves are used as basic protective gear in a variety of businesses, industries, factories, health departments, restaurants, beauty parlour, etc. For a long time, it has been the topic of debate that which hand gloves are better, nitrile or latex? Some prefer nitrile while others prefer latex, not due to any scientific reasons but purely because of personal preferences. However, if we critically compare the two, it would be pretty clear that one is better than the other as we are sure that the two are not the same. Having said that, let’s look at their characteristics to mark the odd one out.

Nitrile Gloves

These gloves are made of synthetic rubber and are very organic in their nature. They have enough elasticity that they fit your hand perfectly and resist any pressure being applied on it from the outside or inside. They have excellent impact resistance and create a solid concrete barrier against bacteria, viruses, pathogens, debris, chemicals, dust, liquids, blood, body fluids, etc. It is impenetrable by any liquid, therefore perfect for medical and chemical use. Their puncture resistance is also incredible. Every manufacturer disposable nitrile gloves makes its nitrile gloves powder-free; consequently, these do not cause any allergic reaction on the skin.

Latex Gloves

These gloves also have significant elasticity and impact resistance but are not better than nitrile gloves, for these are not made of high-quality rubber. They are good at creating a barrier against viruses and bacteria, but there is a possibility of puncture as they do not have such good puncture resistance; therefore, your hands will get contaminated in that case. The material of this glove isn’t very good on the skin, it causes severe allergic reactions, and due to this reason, many countries have completely banned latex gloves.
